Noctilucent Clouds
Noctilucent
clouds over northern Canada. This images was taken from
an 747 flying from Seattle to London over the northern part
of Canada. Noctilucent clouds are clouds that are much, much
(85km!!!) higher than ordinary clouds and are only visible
for a short time around summer solstice.
They
are lighted by the sun which is below the horizon to the north. |
